Control, Alt, Delete?

Computer screen frozen? Modem not broadcasting? Phone system acting goofy? Don’t know what to do? Years ago, when this happened to me, I’d sometimes call in a tech expert from outside the office, and they’d fixed it. What I later learned is what Anne Lamott, a favorite author of mine said,

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes. Including yourself.

My tech expert friends often resorted to one of two strategies which many times solved the problem:

Control, Alt, Delete. Three keys, pressed simultaneously one time, puts you back in control of the programs that are running, letting you close one or more at will.

Pressing Control, Alt, Delete two times in a row shuts the computer down all the way.

Consider unplugging often and long enough to get and practice fresh perspectives as you begin this new year!

Thanks for reading, and Happy New Year!
