Testing Deadline Will Not Be Extended

Hello Home School Families,

I wanted to let you know that the Oregon Department of Education will not be extending the deadline to complete achievement testing this year. The last day to complete testing is August 15. While many home schoolers test their children annually at the end of the school year, the rules in Oregon require, at a minimum, that children test at the end of grades 3, 5, 8, and 10. Submission of these test results to your ESD is upon their request. Just hold on to your reports until they ask.

We’ve added several new in-person group testing opportunities since we last communicated. We will be testing in the following locations:

Toledo             Sherwood        Salem              Bend                Hermiston       Warren

Newport          Beaverton       Sweet Home   Prineville         Pendleton        Vancouver, WA

Lebanon          Hillsboro          McMinnville    Klamath Falls           Chehalis, WA

To sign up, go to our testing page (https://www.basicskills.net/testing/) and contact the coordinator directly either by phone or email.

If you prefer a private test, click the “locate an examiner” button (https://www.basicskills.net/locate-an-examiner-oregon/) for a complete listing of examiners by city.

If you prefer to test at your home remotely, click the remote testing tab (https://www.basicskills.net/testing/#1586360367063-ad3075a0-3406) to see a complete listing of remote group testing dates. For private remote testing, contact Jenny at 503-557-2223.

If you have questions about anything written above, please don’t hesitate to be in touch with us by phone (503) 650-5282 or email at info@basicskills.net.
