Art of Writing 1--9:00-10:00 Grades 9-12
This course is designed to cover a variety of writing techniques, but will primarily focus on the creative aspect of writing. Informative and persuasive essays will be intermixed with poetry, short stories, and other creative writing exercises.
Textbooks will be provided in class.

British Literature--10:15-11:15 Grades 8-12
Students will progress through British thought and culture; studying each link as it is reflected through the works read in class. We will cover seven classics, as well as a poetry unit. Key authors may include Dickens, Bronte, Carroll, Stevenson, and Austen. We will analyze literature through discussion, research projects, character analysis and dramatic presentations.

Writing Fundamentals--11:30-12:30 Grades 8-12
Students will learn different writing formats beginning with a basic paragraph and moving to five-paragraph essays and then to research papjs. MLA format will be taught and used to document research. Class will include a unit on creative writing as well.
