We are pleased to announce that TerraNova 1 will be offered by Basic Skills beginning January 1, 2011. This survey edition standardized test replaces the CAT 5 and satisfies testing requirements for home schoolers in various states including Oregon and Washington. Comprised of four tests, (Reading & Language Part 1 and 2, Mathematics Part 1 and 2) it will measure concepts, processes, and skills taught nation-wide. Optional, supplemental tests measuring vocabulary, language mechanics, spelling, and mathematics may also be taken if desired.
One excellent feature of the TerraNova is the inclusion of test items that require higher level thinking skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. These skills are explained and may be practiced using our recently-released booklet, How to Ask Questions That Matter.
